In this day and age, having an electronic device last 7 years is pretty impressive. My Nexus 7 has been a dependable device and while it still works and the battery is even fine, it’s finally getting long in tooth. From day one it had the “ loose processor” problem where it would sometimes get stuck in a boot loop. But it was still a great device and got me through many long flights adequately entertained. Ever since I upgraded my phone to an LG G6 though, I finally saw how slow the nexus 7 was and have now made the switch. I have chosen the Samsung Galaxy Tab S6 lite. Samsung is pretty much the only game in town now for a quality tablet so this was an easy choice. It went on sale this weekend for $250 so it was a done deal. Got it from Costco with the bookcase (retails at $60) for a total of $280. So I’m pretty happy! Can’t wait to try it out and report how much better it is.

This S pen thing is pretty neat too. I wouldn’t have bought it if it came separate but as an included accessory, I’ll definitely give it a try. So far seems responsive although Idk how useful it could be. My home Internet is slow though so it’ll be a while before it finishes updating/installing things.

Also went on a great bike ride afterwards. Wonderful view at the top!

I’m an Android boi but I have to admit to using an iPad for a tablet. Has Samsung really got the Android tablet thing working?

We shall find out! I can't stand IOS so no way could I use an iPad. I found my nexus 7 to be way more useful than originally intended. I only bought it because of the crazy sale ($99) that staples ran at the time. But a tablet is the perfect casual home device and great for traveling. If Windows wasn't so trash, I'd probably just have a decent lightweight laptop. From the reviews this seemed like a great option for the price. An iPad air would have cost more and not been as good. Everything else is too expensive for something that I don't really need.

I’m someone who uses Chrome and Gmail on their iPad (and has had a long line of Android phones including my current Pixel3)   so I’m hoping that by the time this one dies I can go back home. I have to admit, though, that this iPad (10” not Pro) is solid in most ways and much less annoying than the iPhones I’ve dealt with.

I’ve got a Fire HD 10 (previous generation though). I don’t think it’s as good as iPad, but it’s really fucking good for $120 (with ads removed) . Android is well hidden and out of date on the Fire, so I don’t think it tells me much about the state of Android tablets (I have installed Google’s apps).

The problem with the fire to me was that it has basically the same specs as my nexus 7. So it's a bit outdated. I considered it due to the low price but I was feeling it time for a real upgrade. Idk who would buy the ad supported version, that would drive me nuts haha.
